STRATEGIC DEVELOPMENT PLAN FOR 2010-2012
Introduction
The Chamber of Control of Georgia (CCG) is an independent public institution established under the Constitution of Georgia.
According to the Law of Georgia “On the Chamber of Control of Georgia” enacted in 2009, the CCG is a Supreme Audit Institution authorized to conduct audit of the state budget, public finances and activities of public administration.
The CCG performs its activities in accordance with the Law, which obliges it to carry out an audit in compliance with international standards. It independently plans its audit activities and is accountable to the Parliament of Georgia.
The CCG activities include financial, compliance and performance audits the purpose of which is to provide the Parliament and the general public with reliable information related to the legal, purposeful, economic and efficient management of public finances as well as the implementation of activities by the Government.
The main benefit of the results of the CCG activities is the promotion of good governance on the basis of the recommendations worked out for improvement of public finance management.

Capacity Development Plan For 2010-2011
Chamber of Control of Georgia as the supreme audit institution plays vital role in holding government accountable to legislatures and the public for their stewardship of public funds, and helping to ensure the transparency of government operations, which requires performing the activities according to high professional standards.
In order to perform constitutional mandate efficiently and effectively it is inevitable to develop the institutional capacity of Chamber of Control of Georgia.
By capacity we mean the skill, knowledge and the ways of working that makes the organization effective. Building capacity means developing further each of these, building on existing strengths, and addressing gaps and weaknesses.
Chamber of Control of Georgia according to the new mandate defined in the Law of Georgia on Chamber of Control of Georgia faces the new challenges. These challenges are complex and are related to the development of professional skills, as well as to the strengthening of organizational capacity by establishing sustainable development system.
On the basis of the relevant strategic documents CCG has developed the Capacity Building Plan for the years 2010-2011. In particular, the operational action plan of the CCG has been devised based on the Strategic Development Plan 2009 -2011; within the year 2010 an Annual Audit Plan has been adopted in order to ensure the accomplishment of the constitutional obligations, which also defines the tentative work plan for the year 2011.
To achieve the objectives defined in the abovementioned strategic plans Chamber of Control of Georgia has identified specific needs which are necessary for the successful achievements of the objectives.
