State Audit Office of the Republic of Latvia
The development of bilateral relations between the SAO of Latvia and the Chamber of Control of Georgia was initiated by the official visit of the CCG delegation led by the Chairman of the CCG to Riga in June 2010. As a result of the visit on the 17th of June a Memorandum of Understanding was signed by the SAO of Latvia and the CCG, the purpose of which was, to promote cooperation between the institutions.
The Memorandum envisages the following:
- Exchange of experience in the field of state audit
- Professional trainings
- Sharing professional and technical knowledge
- Organizations of joint projects and parallel audits
Enhancement of bilateral relations between the SAIs promotes the exchange of valuable experience between the institutions and provides with the opportunity to support each other in the processes of institutional development and growth of professional capabilities.

Joint Pilot Audits of the three Ministries

Representatives of the State Audit Office of Latvia for the third time visited the Chamber of Control of Georgia with the purpose of conducting joint pilot audits of the three ministries: : Ministry of Labor, Health and Social Security; Ministry of Education and Science; Ministry of Infrastructure and Regional Development.
Joint Pilot Audits in the CCG

Representatives of the State Audit Office of Latvia paid second visit in a row to the Chamber of Control of Georgia.
The purpose of the visit of the Latvian colleagues was to conduct together with the employees of the CCG pilot audits of three ministries. The above mentioned activities are carries out within the framework of the contract signed by the both sides on the 30th of August 2010 which envisages the performance of joint financial audits of three ministries: Ministry of Labor, Health and Social Security; Ministry of Education and Science; Ministry of Infrastructure and Regional Development.
Training programs in the CCG
20-23 September, 2010
On the 20th – 23rd of September 2010 the CCG was visited by the 3 representatives of the State Audit Office of Latvia. The purpose of the above mentioned visit was to provide practical trainings for the employees of the CCG related to the planning phase of audit.
The outlined training programs have been organized within the framework of the Project (Contract 1) which represents the agreement on the implementation of joint pilot audits of ministries covering the planning, implementation and reporting phases of the audit.

29, August, 2010
On the 29th of August 2010 the General Auditor of the State Audit Office of the Republic of Latvia, Ms Inguna Sudraba paid an official visit to the CCG. The purpose of the visit was to sign the agreement on the joint pilot audits of the state budget execution in 3 ministries which included sharing of experience and provision of practical training to Georgian colleagues in the field.
The above mentioned ministries are:
- Ministry of Labor, Health and Social Security
- Ministry of Education and Science
- Ministry of Infrastructure and Regional Development
The Project has been initiated within the framework of the Memorandum of Understanding between the Chamber of Control and the State Audit Office of Latvia signed on the 17th of June 2010 in Riga, Latvia and will be implemented by means of several visits to Georgia within the period from 30th of August till 31st of May 2011.
