XI ASOSAI Assembly and 4th ASOSAI Symposium in Islamabad, Pakistan on the 12th-15th of October

The XI ASOSAI Assembly was held in Islamabad, Pakistan on the 12th-15th of October. Among the representatives of the 31 country- member SAIs that attended the meeting was the Deputy Chairman of the CCG, Mr. Devi Vephvadze.

Along with the revision of reports and general discussions during the meetings the topic of the enhancement of effectiveness of public expenditure was addressed by the 4th ASOSAI Symposium and views were shared by SAIs of such countries as Sri Lanka, Kazakhstan, Vietnam and Pakinstan. One common elements that emerged from the presentations was the fact that the quality of institutions and processes have a significant impact on the effectiveness of public expenditures.

Seminar on “Social Safety Audit” China, Septermber, 2009

On the 1st-8th of October 2009 the SAI of the People’s Republic of China – CNAO (National Audit Office) as a member of ASOSAI organized a seminar on the topic “Social Safety Audit”. Among the 26 countries-members that attended the seminar was Georgia represented by Mr. George Melanashvili, Auditor.

The seminar was delivered in the form of forum and the following questions have been addressed:

1. 1Audit related to accidents 
2. Audit of houses provided by state in the forms of subsidies.  

The above mentioned form of the seminar facilitated the friendly atmosphere and promoted open discussions and debates.
